Character's Impulsiveness and Decisions

       Denver is really attached to this new, yet mysterious, person. However does not feel the same way about the arrival of Paul D. Denver had really been alone for a long time since nobody came by the house since it is considered haunted by a baby ghost. "Shortly after Sethe and Denver tried to call up and reason with the baby ghost, but got nowhere. It took one a man Paul D, to shout it off, beat it off and take its place for himself. And carnival or no carnival, Denver preferred the venomous bay to him any day. During the first days after Paul D moved in, Denver stayed in her emerald closet as long as she could, lonely like as a mountain and almost as big, thinking everybody had somebody but her; thinking even the ghost's company was denied her. So when she saw the black dress with two unlaced shoes beneath it she trembled with secrete thanks. Whatever her power was and however she used it, Beloved was hers," (123). This quote gives us much detail on Denver's impulses and some of the decisions she has made given the circumstances that Denver was put in or put herself in. Such as screaming at Beloved for supposedly choking Sethe, however not even knowing who actually did it just being impulsive and reckless about the situation. And he impulsiveness and her actions, make her have to deal with the blame and the guilt that she didn't even know if Beloved was choking Sethe or if it was as Beloved said that it was the circle of iron. However, maybe Denver's decisions and impulsiveness had something to do with the arrival of Beloved, maybe Beloved arrived at 124 knowing that some people like Denver needed that light to give them hope.
     
       The arrival of Paul D to 124, affected Denver in a very negative way since it wasn't the arrival Denver wanted. Compared to the arrival of Beloved, the arrival of Paul D was most likely one of the toughest things to handle due to the fact that Paul D had Sethe's support. So, Denver had to deal with the fact that she now has to live with Paul D in the same house and pretty much her step-dad. The way Denver handled it by asking him when he was going to leave and acting up really lead to the decision of pretty much hiding in her closet to space out and not get involved with Paul D.
